Discussion
- These lectures are [to be] held in a form different from what is usual.
- There will be no topic slides.
- What will be shown, on two
separate screens, hence via two separate computers,
- is text pages from the book,
[1]
, and
- text pages from the example compendium,
[2]
.
- The lecturer will be sitting in a comfortable armchair – he
will be 84 earlier in October !
- He will have the respective,
[1-2]
, texts in front of him.
- Their pages will be marked by coloured “post-it” stickers.
- The so-indicated pages will be lectured upon – a mere subset.
- The assistant – who manages the two screens – will have
similar text copies.
- The students will/may (!)
not
have laptops in front of them.
- They will instead each have their own unmarked
[1-2]
.
- The lecturer will focus on selected sections of
[1-2]
.
- He will tell why, what is shown, and what it is all about.
- Students are expected, later, after the lecture,
- to read the segments shown in the lecture – and,
- as proper students, at a leading university, more !
Opus XVI
was the best restaurant we visited – hence twice
– in Bergen. Food was great: Kari had Persetorsk, twice !
The waiter, Mr. J. Pons [Aix en Provence], took good care of us. The
bartender made great drinks. Both were professionals.
Not all this “new” kitchen stuff, where one needs a microscope to
see the food, where the staff is overcome by the presumptiousness of
their own excellence, where in-experienced customers are in awe,
etc.
Other restaurants “suffered” from inexperienced “student-job” waiters.
